Straight answers to the questions we hear most from Western Mass homeowners.
Projects range widely. New bed install with plantings: $2,000-$8,000. Walkway (paver or bluestone): $35-$55 per square foot installed. Patio: $4,500-$18,000 depending on size and material. Full lawn rebuild: $1.50-$3.50 per square foot. We provide itemized quotes after a design walk — no ballpark surprises.
Both. We do in-house design for most residential projects (included in the job cost above ~$5,000). We'll also work from drawings your architect or landscape designer provides.
Native perennials (echinacea, coneflower, black-eyed susan), hydrangea varieties, rhododendron, dogwood, serviceberry, Japanese maple, and most evergreens. We're in USDA zone 6a — so we avoid zone-7 plants that won't survive a cold winter. We pick plants for your specific sun/soil/water conditions.
Early spring (April-May) and fall (September-October). Summer plantings work but need heavy watering attention. Avoid planting in July/August heat if possible. We schedule installs year-round but book early spring and fall fast.
Yes — one-year warranty on all plantings provided you followed our watering guidance. We replace plants that don't establish. Hardscape (walkways, walls, patios) carries a 5-year workmanship warranty.
Yes. French drains, swales, dry wells, downspout extensions, grading corrections. We fix the cause of wet yards, not just the symptoms.
Varies by town. Walls over 4 feet typically need engineering + permit. Patios usually don't unless they affect drainage or zoning setbacks. We pull permits when needed and include the cost in the quote.
