How BML mosquito control works

Simple, proven, and built around your schedule — not ours.

1. Walk the property

We identify where mosquitoes and ticks rest — shrub lines, stone walls, under decks, leaf-litter edges.

2. Targeted barrier spray

A fine mist applied to those resting zones. Dries in 30-45 minutes. Doesn't touch flowering plants.

3. Repeat every 3 weeks

Seven visits from late April through October, knocking each generation down before it breeds.

4. Free retreats

Rain washed product away? Bugs bouncing back? Call us — we come back at no charge.

Built around the way mosquitoes actually live

Mosquitoes don't just hover in open air — they rest during the day in shaded, humid spots: shrub lines, tall grass, under decks, along stone walls. That's where we concentrate the treatment. Spray the resting habitat, and you knock down the population before they have a chance to breed, land on you, or leave you scratching at 3am.

Ticks live in the same edge habitat, which is why every mosquito application also covers tick control at no extra charge.

What you get with the seasonal program

Mosquito knockdown

Barrier spray kills on contact and keeps a residual 2-3 weeks. Typical yards see an 85-95% reduction within the first full cycle.

Tick control included

Every mosquito application also treats tick hotspots — stone walls, wooded borders, and transition zones.

Family & pet safe

EPA-registered materials. Once the application dries (30-45 min), your yard is ready for kids, dogs, and cookouts.

All-natural option

Prefer cedar-oil based? Ask about our organic program — same targeted approach, plant-based ingredients.

Visit reminders

Text or email the day before each application so you can bring the dog in and close the windows.

No long contracts

Cancel any time. Refunds for visits you haven't received. If we're not fixing the problem, you shouldn't be paying.

Mosquito & tick FAQ

The questions we hear every spring — with straight answers.

How does BML mosquito control actually work?

We apply a targeted barrier treatment to the areas where mosquitoes rest during the day — shrubs, tall grass, under decks, along tree lines and fencing. The application kills adult mosquitoes on contact and keeps working for roughly three weeks, giving you sustained relief without having to think about it.

Is the treatment safe for kids, pets and pollinators?

Yes — the materials we use are EPA-registered for residential yards. Once the spray has dried (typically 30-45 minutes), your yard is safe for everyone. We do not treat flowering plants during active bloom, so bees and other pollinators are protected.

How often do you come out for applications?

The standard BML program is seven visits from late April through October, spaced roughly three weeks apart. If we hit a stretch of heavy rain that washes product away, we'll return at no extra charge.

Do you treat for ticks too?

Every mosquito application includes tick control. Ticks live in the same edge habitat — leaf litter, tall grass, brushy borders — so the same visit handles both. We focus extra attention on tick hotspots like stone walls and wooded edges.

When is the best time to start?

Before you see mosquitoes. We start the program in late April when adult mosquitoes emerge from overwintering spots. Starting early knocks down the first generation before they breed, which means far fewer mosquitoes all season. If you're signing up mid-season, we can still help — just expect a few weeks for the population to catch down.

Do I need to be home when you spray?

Nope. As long as gates are unlocked and dogs are inside, we'll handle it and leave a service card on your door when we're done. We'll also text or email you the day before each visit so you can plan.

What if mosquitoes come back between visits?

They shouldn't — but if you're noticing them, call us at 413.533.1999 and we'll send someone out for a free retreat. That's part of what you're paying for.

Is there an organic or all-natural option?

Yes. Ask about our all-natural program — it uses cedar oil and essential oils rather than synthetic pyrethroids. It works, though the effect lasts closer to 10-14 days rather than three weeks, so the visit cadence is tighter.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on the size of your yard and how much edge habitat there is. Most residential lots in our coverage area run $65-$95 per visit. We'll walk the property, give you a firm quote, and you decide.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No long lock-in. We run a seasonal program (April-October) and if you're not happy you can cancel at any time — we'll refund visits you haven't received yet.
