Serving West Springfield EPA-registered Safe for pets & kids

Why West Springfield homeowners call us first

If you live in West Springfield, you know the mosquito pressure here can be relentless — especially near wooded lots, ponds, tree lines, and any spot that holds standing water after the spring rains. Our seasonal program targets the resting habitat where mosquitoes and ticks actually live, not just the air where they fly. That's why homeowners across West Springfield stay on the program year after year.

We've been serving Western Massachusetts since 1985 and our crew is local — based right in South Hadley, a short drive from West Springfield. We already run regular routes here, which keeps response times fast if you need a retreat or a call-back.

Mosquito & tick FAQ

How does BML mosquito control actually work?

We apply a targeted barrier treatment to the areas where mosquitoes rest during the day — shrubs, tall grass, under decks, along tree lines and fencing. The application kills adult mosquitoes on contact and keeps working for roughly three weeks, giving you sustained relief without having to think about it.

Is the treatment safe for kids, pets and pollinators?

Yes — the materials we use are EPA-registered for residential yards. Once the spray has dried (typically 30-45 minutes), your yard is safe for everyone. We do not treat flowering plants during active bloom, so bees and other pollinators are protected.

How often do you come out for applications?

The standard BML program is seven visits from late April through October, spaced roughly three weeks apart. If we hit a stretch of heavy rain that washes product away, we'll return at no extra charge.

Do you treat for ticks too?

Every mosquito application includes tick control. Ticks live in the same edge habitat — leaf litter, tall grass, brushy borders — so the same visit handles both. We focus extra attention on tick hotspots like stone walls and wooded edges.

When is the best time to start?

Before you see mosquitoes. We start the program in late April when adult mosquitoes emerge from overwintering spots. Starting early knocks down the first generation before they breed, which means far fewer mosquitoes all season. If you're signing up mid-season, we can still help — just expect a few weeks for the population to catch down.

Do I need to be home when you spray?

Nope. As long as gates are unlocked and dogs are inside, we'll handle it and leave a service card on your door when we're done. We'll also text or email you the day before each visit so you can plan.

What if mosquitoes come back between visits?

They shouldn't — but if you're noticing them, call us at 413.533.1999 and we'll send someone out for a free retreat. That's part of what you're paying for.

Is there an organic or all-natural option?

Yes. Ask about our all-natural program — it uses cedar oil and essential oils rather than synthetic pyrethroids. It works, though the effect lasts closer to 10-14 days rather than three weeks, so the visit cadence is tighter.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on the size of your yard and how much edge habitat there is. Most residential lots in our coverage area run $65-$95 per visit. We'll walk the property, give you a firm quote, and you decide.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No long lock-in. We run a seasonal program (April-October) and if you're not happy you can cancel at any time — we'll refund visits you haven't received yet.
